I Chronicles 29:11 "Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty:for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."

Hospitality: A Blessing to Me

We are hosting a Deaf man from the States while he is here to help out with Deaf Camp, and to teach in the Deaf Bible College. When I first learned we would be hosting someone for three weeks, I was a little afraid. Our house is small. Really small. Like nine hundred odd square feet small.

But Sleeping Beauty was more than happy to give up her room and bunk with her sisters. We cleaned out her closet so the man (Mr. Kevin) staying with us would feel at home and be able to put his things away.

We washed the walls, the sheets, the windows and sill, vacuumed, and organized the desk. We baked two kind of biscotti, two different kinds of muffins, pumpkin bread, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and stocked up on breakfast bars.

We were hoping to be a blessing to him.

This man has really blown us away and been a blessing to US.

Not only did he ask what we would like from the States so he could bring it (and not let us pay him back, I might add), he also has offered to bring things back to the States and ship them to our family. (And will not let us pay him for shipping.)

He has been a wonderful house guest, offering to help clear the table, helping the hubby look at the dryer and see if he could get the screeching sound to stop, teaching at the college, preaching at our church yesterday, showing us a true example of wisdom and humility, loving on my kids...

And the thing that's been the biggest blessing to me is the smiles I've seen on my hubby's face since having someone at his spiritual level here to bounce things off of and vent to, and just enjoy being around. It has been a sweet encouragement to my spirit.

And he hasn't even been here a week yet.

Lord You are so good to give us what we need in the time we need it. Thank you for bringing a friend to my hubby and for encouraging him. Thank You, thank You, thank You.....
