I Chronicles 29:11 "Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty:for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."

Deep Thought Thursday: The Will of God

1Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Have those words ever been harder to say than yesterday? Many of you know about the situation with our friend Michael. Last November he was falsely accused and arrested for a terrible crime he did not commit. DNA results have proven his innocence. The child in question has changed her story many times.

The trial was yesterday. It was a long day, and the child apparently became tired in the court room. She fell asleep. When it was time to question her a second time, she said she was tired and so they closed court for the day and postponed Michael's trial until November 5.

His brother's wedding is Saturday. He was supposed to be the best man.

There's a reason things are continuously being postponed. Though we don't know why. We don't understand, in our limited human minds what the reason could possibly be. Maybe it's not about Michael at all, but that so the rest of us can learn to wait on the Lord. I don't know, but it seems pretty unfair. If he were in America he would have the right to a speedy trial. Not so here in SA.

God's unfathomable wisdom is keeping the case from going fully to trial. Who knows why? Ours in not to question our sovereign and merciful God, but to trust, to continue to bring our brother before the Lord, and to ask what we can do to comfort and minister to those involved.

Would you please pray DAILY about this situation? It's been a very trying and emotional ten months. The family has been through a lot as you can imagine, and I am sure everyone to attend the wedding was hoping to see Michael there. God's Word and the Holy Spirit can do a lot to comfort them. Would you ask Him to do so?

And remember: The will of God is always perfect- even when we don't understand.

Oh that is so frustrating! Will continue to pray...

Your words ring true for a friend of mine in a different situation as well.

Oh my word. I am so sorry that things didn't get resolved yesterday- but do trust in the Lord's timing in all things.

Will add this again to my daily prayers.

    Love you guys-
    Wendy
